I started this blog first writing what inspires me to want to strive and work hard to realize a dream that I once had when I was younger and that particular childhood dream came around because of a few strong personalities that I came across with on television. Most notable are of course the Olsen Twins and a few good people from the reality show Laguna Beach. Now until today, I feel like I have rambled too much on Lauren Conrad and it is only because she has been a strong influence in my life. And since I started blogging about her and the effects of watching Laguna Beach, I thought about spending the rest of April and the whole of May dedicating most of my posts inspired by the casts of show and its subsequent show, The Hills. Today my focus will be on Miss Kristin Cavallari.
Throughout Laguna Beach, I was never a fan of Kristin mostly because of the overconfident personality and loud mouth. Of course until today I don't think I will ever be able to be close friends with someone like her. However, I will not deny her hard work and determination to make the most for herself using the platform that she was presented with and established on. On reality TV we see a side of Kristin that appeals to the public but watching Very Cavallari, we see the other side of Kristin - the side of her that is all about being ambitious and a visionary to create a brand of herself that is closely relative to the public that could relate themselves to her. That is the side of her that I extremely respect. Even before her launch of Uncommon James, Kristin has done a lot for herself.
Post reality TV, Miss Cavallari began her business journey with the launch of her shoes collection with Chinese Laundry in 2013 and she further pushes herself to write her own cookbook, True Roots, where introduces her fun way to clean and toxin-free eating. Her cookbook was listed in the New York Bestselling List and that is saying something. Recently, she launched her second cookbook, True Comfort. Both copies of her cookbooks can be found in the Uncommon James Home website and it is only available at Kinokuniya Bookstore in Malaysia.
Moving on, in mid 2017, Kristin launches her own lifestyle brand, Uncommon James in which her journey from launching to its growth was recorded in her reality show with E! Entertainment, Very Cavallari. Her journey post The Hills truly inspires me because she does so much in which I wanted to do once upon a time in my life. And to see even for someone like her who has the financial means and the platform not only to create a brand of her own and also manages it to the extend of it today, having to go through the setbacks of starting and growing a business and also putting in the hard work and sacrifices to manage, it shows me just like I always have believed in, to start and to maintain a business needs a lot of hard work especially when you are creating your own brand.
Uncommon James started off as a jewelry line of timeless, effortless and sophisticated pieces and then it expanded to home goods which is also a passion of Kristin's. Of course a lot of her home goods are mostly inspired by her passion for the kitchen from cooking utensils to her own cookbooks and of course some inspiring decorating pieces like the scented candles. If that is not enough, after UJ Home, Kristin introduces Little James, a clothing specifically dedicated to the little tots which I assumed was inspired by her love for her children. Soon, in mid May of this year, Kristin is going to launch Uncommon James Beauty, her latest collection of skin care that is inspired by her own beauty routine. Truth be told, I am glad she is starting with skin care line instead of makeup line and the reason being is because there are so many celebrities out there that are launching their own makeup and should KC do the same thing, it will only drown the products instead of elevating it considering her influence versus other bigger celebrities. I'm also not really looking forward to the launch mostly because I can't use them nor can I afford them but that will never stop me from wanting to write about it. I mean I am heavily influenced by the casts of both Laguna Beach and The Hills.
However, I heard through the grapevines of Youtube that Kristin Cavallari is coming to be featured in another reality TV show and of course that has to be the second season of The Hills : The New Beginning. I honestly, until today, will never be able to understand why anyone would want to be part of a show that has been exposed of its notoriety of being scripted and constantly dragging its casts in the mud (like Speidi). I can never understand people choosing money over their pride but then again I am not them and the choices were not proposed to me so I wouldn't know actually if I would reject the offer. Nonetheless, as much as I am disappointed that Kristin decided to go back to The Hills, I am glad that she will only be a feature in the show this season. I will still not watch it because I only watched the show because of LC. But I am looking forward to Kristin's next business venture after the launch of her skin care.
