I'm Not Carrie Bradshaw

My real name is Fatin, a name too familiar in my home country, Malaysia. For the longest time, I have been living my life the way society has projected life to be and that is - get a Degree and work 5 days a week. That is all I have known or processed to do. Last year, I quit my job because I felt burnt out and lost in my own identity. I'm in my mid-thirties and believe it or not, I have yet to figure out what I really want to do with my life, until yesterday really. I was binge-watching Sex In The City, a TV show that I was never into in the past (still don't understand why people are so into it) and I can't help myself to think about the main character, Carrie Bradshaw. She was a columnist or in simpler terms, a writer, who writes about relationship and sex. This brings me back to my time in college where I spend majority of my free time writing - about K-pop and K-pop fashion. And this particular memory triggers something in me. My greatest passion in life are both reading and writing and I guess that's what I really want to do with my life right now before I hit middle-age. 

Now at thirty-six, I do not wish to write like Carrie Bradshaw. My blog is my platform where I share everything that is not in New York and as a single woman, I guess relationship advices are out of the question too. That doesn't mean that I can't write anything relevant to the masses. My interests in life haven't change. I still enjoy reading, writing and K-pop but to add a bit more bite to my blog content, I will be writing about the topics that have no relevance to me or my life but Is till want to talk about it because I want to. Once an ambitious little girl who wants to do something for herself after looking at the success of the famous Olsen Twins, and also with the inspiration of my charitable parents, hoping that whatever I do for myself could also contribute fairly to my community. 

This Is Not New York

So my world may seem not as exciting as those who resides in New York but that is not to say, Kuala Lumpur and every other states in Malaysia are not full of adventures and stories to unfold. From great food to exotic places and favourable shopping locations, there are so many wonders within the borders of my home country. Coincidentally, just like Carrie, I too have three other friends whom I share some crazy quirks with and are not afraid to share with the world.
