Throwback to Childhood Dream (Part Two) - Lauren Conrad

During my tweens to teenage years, I have always admired the work of The Olsen Twins. Of course there are also others that I like to watch like Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes. These girls all happens to be my age which makes me more intrigued with their work and talents. Around my late teen years, this was just before I graduated from Secondary School, my world was introduced to the world of reality TV and my very first reality TV was Laguna Beach which brought forth Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari. And this is where this post begins.

Lauren Conrad brought a new type of fresh air for me. I do have to admit that at that time when I watched Laguna Beach, I was oblivious to the fact that I was no where living the luxurious life Lauren and gang was living. Although that never stopped me from daydreaming once in a while. Once Laguna Beach was done, Lauren moved onto The Hills, a continuation of her journey in reality TV and fashion and this made me even more interested in fashion. Lauren didn't spend the rest of her life in The Hills though after that but after 5 years, she resigned from reality TV and made a whole career out of the popularity of The Hills. This is where I just started admired Lauren Conrad even more. As I have mentioned in my earlier post, I am no where interested in being an actress or a singer but I do find fondness and interests in writing and being a journalist, a less scandalous version of Oprah Winfrey, I have somehow found a interest to start my own brand as well - a brand that marries business, writing and fashion. I am not sure why how I forgot about that dream but I am just grateful that I was finally able to clear my head and find that love and ambition again.

Just like the Olsen Twins, Lauren also started her own thing. She began with writing her own books, a fictional story that was inspired by her life in reality TV as well some other books where she shares her tips and advices on beauty and fashion and she also scored a partnership with Kohl's and started her own LC by Lauren Conrad line. Today, Lauren not only have books and fashion line, she also has home goods and beauty line. Although, I have to say that I sort of miss her own fashion line which she called Papercrown. I am not sure why that line has stopped production but I have to admit that it did scream Lauren's personality (even though the price are incredibly ridiculous). But what truly made me respect Lauren even more is when she and her friend, Hannah Skvarla, started The Little Market - a non-profit fair trade shop that sells artisan-made products that are ethically sourced. Basically in short, this business was open to help women from under-developed countries to earn their own living. That business move truly inspires me because since young what I really wanted to do is just to provide assistance to those in need or create a platform that could actually help those in need. Especially during this time where the pandemic is literally effecting every business aspect under the sky, ensuring that there is a platform that could assists those who are heavily affected would truly be a blessings for everyone involved as well as for myself.

Here's the catch that got me envious of Miss Conrad and that was when she started her own podcast. One of the many things that I want to do is to be a journalist and to have a platform where I can conversations with amazing people talking about their missions and other positive things that could be beneficial to others. Lauren didn't just started her podcast, her podcasts was entirely personal to her but rewarding to her listeners as she shares her journey to become a successful entrepreneur from how she started her business to beginner's advices for marketing and social media, everything is discussed about and I can't help but to feel both grateful that she shared her experiences and tips but also envious that she finally got to do it.

I am looking forward to the day where I can finally just sit back and truly figure out what and how I can fulfill my dream of starting something like what Lauren has done with her life. Personally, I find it rewarding in both ways and there is nothing more that I want than doing something where it doesn't just make me happy but it can also allow me to feel and share the rewards at the same time. I honestly think that Lauren has a lot of brilliant business ideas but what is even more impressive is how she continuously made herself relevant even to today's younger audiences.
