It is clear to me by the time I started college that besides writing, my other interest and passion is fashion. However, being a fashion-whatever does not rode well within my circle of relationship. Let's just say, I come from a old school background where higher education with professional background speaks higher volume than others. Not going to deny that mindset though because I do believe getting higher education is definitely an advantage but I do have to disagree that some profession differ greatly than others. Truthfully, I actually wanted to take Journalism for my Degree but that was never the fate for me. So I stick to just enjoy writing and reading about fashion while sharing my love with whomever was interested.
I did get busy during my spare time in college writing out about fashion for existing organization but it was never a full time for me. Also, because I had to complete a course that differs completely from fashion, I wasn't able to find the right footing of what type of fashion person I wanted to be - fashion writer, fashion contributor, fashion influenster, the titles revolving around fashion differs so many. It was hard to truly listen to yourself and figure out the person you are when your world is not very supportive of your passion - but that is for another time to rant about. Throughout my college years, I spent a lot of time watching fashion related television shows and movies. While fashion related movies was hard to come by, I just love how many more fashion related TV Shows comes out after the movie, ' The Devil Wears Prada'. Aside from Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, The Hills and The City, there was one show that just sticks with me until today and that is - Stylista.
Stylista is survival TV show that is heavily inspired by the movie The Devil Wears Prada where a bunch of young fashion aspired interns, work their way up the ladder to land a job and work at Elle Magazine. The owner of the competition happen to be, Johanna Cox, now known as Johanna Cox Moran. What I love about this show is because this was the only survival TV show that involved both fashion and journalism. I find it to be something that I have always wanted to do. Not just to write about fashion and get out there on the streets and discover new fashion trends, venture into new cafes and restaurants, sharing shopping tips and of course, organizing fashion photoshoot where my creativity could go wild.

It was after watching this show I figured where in fashion I would totally like to be in, be it then and now or in the future. I realize that I have an imagination that is sort of wild now but it is mostly because I haven't been able to realized them. On top of that, I have never exposed myself to the practice of photography or videography, so my talent is still at rusty at this point. But being a creative director is something that I truly think I will flourish in the world of fashion and I guess that where I see myself in the future.
My only regret is that they never renew the season for Stylista but I could be just some of the minority of the people that enjoy watching it. Nonetheless, I am grateful that the show was released because again that is the show that got me to realise what I want to do in the world of fashion. I can only hope and pray that I continue to venture out to do what I am passionate about. My ambition is still big and even though it's hard today, I can only think confidently that I could one day make that ambition come true - for me.
